This talk will cover three main topics.
My background and my career as well as what ways I used to get into the videogames industry. Here I’ll talk about Modding, online communities, and a couple of projects I did to build my portfolio.
Following that, I’ll talk about the different projects and companies I worked on and discuss their main differences.
And as a follow-up to that, I’ll briefly address some guidelines to those that might be interested in getting into the industry and show them how careers are structured in this business.
At the end I’ll cover how videogame scenarios are made, the workflows used in the creation of 3D worlds and the methodologies we use at Blizzard. I intend to show the whole process, from the idea generation phase until the final polish, in a way that can be interesting not only to those that aspire to follow game art but also to the general audience.
These are the two scenes:
Pedro Moreira Dias (Moderator) - Salão de Jogos/Vodafone FM
Ricardo Flores Santos - Biodroid
Nuno Barreto - Titan Forged Games
Nuno Folhadela - Bica Studios
Filipe Pina - Nerd Monkeys
Sérgio Varanda - miniclip
This discussion will describe some of the challenges I faced when creating Counter-Strike, and my next game Tactical Intervention. It will go into detail the mistakes we made during the development of a multiplayer PC game. I will cover topics such as game development and game testing and marketing of the game. I will also go over using data analytics to help make the game more appealing to a broader audience.
Minh "Gooseman" Le - Computer game developer and creator of Counter-Strike
