Startup Rush initially came from an idea that intended to encourage people that want to do something new and innovative to share experiences and ideas among startups, mentors, entrepreneurs and university students. In a laydback atmosphere, Startup Rush will be filled by some of the most innovative companies in Portugal, alongside with investors looking for the “Next Big Thing” and even the presence of internationally renowned speakers to share some of their vast experience in the area. For two days, tech talks, networking, mentorship, investment and hacking are the keywords for all our participants.
In the last few years open source has transformed the software industry. From Android to Wikipedia, open source is everywhere, but how does one succeed in it? While open source projects come in all shapes and sizes and all forms of governance, no matter what kind of project you’re a part of, there are a set of fundamentals that lead to success. I’d like to share some of the lessons I’ve learned from running two of the largest commercial open source projects, Docker and MongoDB, as well as some very successful community projects.
